Bobby Moore Walking Football Festival

The Northamptonshire FA is encouraging people to sign up for the Walking Football Festival on Sunday 9th July at Goals Northampton in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

The Walking Football Festival in Northamptonshire is for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to get involved in an innovative version of the game – regardless of ability or experience – and will be one of 32 held across the country during July.

Whether you want to register as part of a team, or as an individual, the Northamptonshire FA will welcome entries from everyone who wants to take part. Teams of six will be brought together on an informal basis, with a series of games taking place throughout the day.

Registration for the Walking Football Festival will cost a minimum of £5 per person. This money will be donated to The FA’s official charity partner, The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, which was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE in memory of her husband to fund pioneering, life-saving bowel cancer research.

Since the fund was set up in 1993, mortality rates have fallen by 30% and over £23.5 million has been raised, but there is still so much more to do.

To register your interest please contact Chris Cotman on 01604 876777 or [email protected] by Thursday 6th July.
