Walking Football Festival at [email protected]

Norfolk FA is encouraging people to sign up for the Walking Football Festival on the 9th July (10am-1pm) in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

The Walking Football Festival is for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to get involved in an innovative version of the game – regardless of ability or experience – and will be one of 32 held across the country during July.

Whether you want to register as part of a team, or as an individual, entries are welcome from everyone who wants to take part. Teams of five (maximum squad numbers of 7) will be brought together on an informal basis, with a series of games taking place throughout the day.

Registration for the Walking Football Festival will cost £5 per person. 100% of the money will be donated to The FA’s official charity partner, The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK, which was set up by Stephanie Moore MBE in memory of her husband to fund pioneering, life-saving bowel cancer research.

Since the fund was set up in 1993, mortality rates have fallen by 30% and over £23.5 million has been raised, but there is still so much more to do.

There will also be additional fundraising events taking place on the day to help raise as much money for the Bobby Moore Fund as possible including a raffle to win an England shirt signed by Gareth Southgate.
