  1. This is a cross post from a topic: Wakefield Walking Football We have been playing indoors at Wakefield Football Centre since Aug 2014 - initially a council sponsored group but now as a separate club under the name Wakefield Walking Football with a competitive team playing as Wakefield Wanderers. From an initial group of 6 and 1 session a week we now have 40 members with 3 sessions 12:00- 13:00 on Mon/ Wed/Fri. Sessions are aimed at 50+ but most players are in the 60 + age bracket and we have 5 over 70's who turn out every Monday. We have played and won a few tournaments as Wakefield Wanderers and are the current Sheffield & Hallamshire league trophy holders On 7 Jan we played 2 demonstration matches at half time when Bradford City Football Club (BCFC) defeated Chesterfield at Valley Parade. 24 players and 2 referees entertained 17500 fans - a great day for the club. If anyone wishes to get further information about the sessions or the club please have a look at http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/wakefieldwalkingfootball/news/ or Facebook Wakefield Walking Football or Twitter WakefieldWF
