One of our players was nominated in July and he has heard nothing to date. Are there going to be trials, if so where? Communication from the organisers is non existent.
  3. Read the report on Friday's October session of the Greater Manchester Walking Football Over 60's Autumn League. Peter Thomas of Fleetwood Town Flyers (pictured) raised £135.92 for the McMillan Nurses at the leagues October session. Well done Peter, it's a great cause.
  4. Knee Replacement

Hi Joycey, that's surprising because I was under the impression that they would only operate on one knee at a time. If I went down that road, that's what I would go for - both at the same time. Good to see your's has been a success and you are back playing again. How long was it after the op before you could play again? .
  5. Knee Replacement

One of our own players, 'Shedders', who has been nominated for the England Walking Football Team, has had knee replacements and he is still only 51 years old and playing some great football. It certainly works for some but on the negative side I know people who regret having had the op.
  6. Knee Replacement

Being in the same boat as you Brian, I too am interested in any responses. I read about this treatment the other day and will ask my doctor about it next Monday when I see him. The other alternative is undergoing trials at the moment. Apparently they take stem cells from the hip and implant them in the cartilage, or what's left of it. I have emailed you the response I received about the trials.
