WALKING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL WILL RAISE CASH FOR CHARITY THE Pirelli Stadium is hosting a Walking Football Festival to raise cash for charity and to give footballers of all adult age groups a chance to play on the 3G pitch. The festival will raise cash for the Bobby Moore Fund to help pay for life-saving bowel cancer research. It is being organised by Burton Albion Community Trust, in partnership with Staffordshire FA and the Bobby Moore Fund, and it will take place at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre at the Pirelli Stadium. It is open to everyone regardless of age or ability. Walking Football traditionally targets players aged 50+, however this festival will be open to anyone aged 18+, so it’s a great opportunity for existing walking football players to be able to play with different generations of their family and friends in a relaxed environment. This initiative is a festival as opposed to a tournament, so results of matches will not be collated and there will be no finals, overall winners, etc. The focus is very much on friends and families having fun together, raising money for a great cause, and also promoting the game of Walking Football. The festival will adopt the FA Laws of the Game for Walking Football.
