The league will play from a central venue at the University of Lincoln over four fixture days starting on Tuesday. The affiliated league will be officiated by qualified County Football Association registered referees. For more information please email [email protected] or telephone 01522 596584 / 07813 459589

  8. Birmingham FA Announce Their First Competitive Walking Football League Here is their announcement and please note they are still looking for more teams! We have some extremely pro-active walking football facilitators within our county and it has been beneficial to tap into that knowledge and experience and see them helping to drive the game forward in our county. We still have a few spaces left within the league so if anybody is interested in entering a team then please feel free to contact me.” The walking format of the game has really taken off over the past 2 years with new groups springing up on a regular basis all over the country. The desire for a league became apparent from discussions that had taken place at Birmingham FA walking football steering group that was created to take advantage of the vast experience there was locally within walking football. The significant growth of the game has been a testament to the work of a number of individuals passionate about providing further opportunities to play the game for older members of the community. With the game starting off purely for recreational purposes a number of groups who had been running for a while were becoming more competitive and now required a local platform and recognition of the game. The walking football league will initially be for those who are 50+ but we are seeking to create an additional league in the coming year for younger players. The league will be 7-a-side and will be £25 per fixture and there are four central venue fixtures dates highlighted below: Sunday 25th June 11:00am - 1:00pm Bedworth Football Club Sunday 16th July 11:00pm - 1:00pm Portway Leisure Centre Oldbury Sunday 20th August 12:00pm - 2:00pm Four Dwellings Academy Quinton Sunday 17th September 11:00am - 1:00pm Heartlands Academy Nechells
