      4. WALKING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL WILL RAISE CASH FOR CHARITY THE Pirelli Stadium is hosting a Walking Football Festival to raise cash for charity and to give footballers of all adult age groups a chance to play on the 3G pitch. The festival will raise cash for the Bobby Moore Fund to help pay for life-saving bowel cancer research. It is being organised by Burton Albion Community Trust, in partnership with Staffordshire FA and the Bobby Moore Fund, and it will take place at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre at the Pirelli Stadium. It is open to everyone regardless of age or ability. Walking Football traditionally targets players aged 50+, however this festival will be open to anyone aged 18+, so it’s a great opportunity for existing walking football players to be able to play with different generations of their family and friends in a relaxed environment. WALKING FOOTBALL FESTIVAL WHEN: Saturday, July 8, noon-3pm WHERE: Burton Albion Community Football Centre (3G Pitch) WHAT: 6-a-side format (maximum squad size of 10) COST: £50.00 per team - 100% of the entry fees will go directly to the Bobby Moore The event can cater for a maximum of 16 teams and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, on the receipt of the team’s £50 entry fee. Keeping with the ethos of traditional walking football, a minimum of two of the players on the pitch at any one time must be over the age of 50. The idea of this festival is to encourage different generations of families and friends to be able to play football together in a relaxed environment. This initiative is a festival as opposed to a tournament, so results of matches will not be collated and there will be no finals, overall winners, etc. The focus is very much on friends and families having fun together, raising money for a great cause, and also promoting the game of Walking Football. The festival will adopt the FA Laws of the Game for Walking Football. For further information and to enter a team: Please contact John Widdowson at [email protected] or call 01283 565 938 or 07943964346.

      6. The FA and the Bobby Moore Fund will be hosting a Walking Football festival in Sheffield on Saturday 8th July. The festival is in aid of The FA’s Charity Partner, the Bobby Moore Fund, and is open to everyone regardless of ability or background. Since the Bobby Moore fund was set up in 1993 mortality rates have fallen 30% and over £23.5 million has been raised for research, but we still have so much more to do. Our purpose is simple – to bring forward the day when bowel cancer is cured. Where: SGP Thorncliffe - S35 3HY Date: Saturday 8th July Time: 11am-3pm Players: must be 18 or over to participate Numbers: 6 a-side Cost: £50 per team As the FA has kindly agreed to cover all festival costs, 100% of your entry fee will go directly to the Bobby Moore Fund to fund life-saving bowel cancer research. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive more information about the day itself including a Bobby Moore Fund fundraising pack. As well as the Walking Football festival, we hope to turn the weekend into a county-wide fundraiser opportunity with activities such as penalty shootouts, raffle and much more on the day! You can use our pack for some inspiration and we encourage everyone in your local community to get involved. We expect places to fill quickly so please register your team ASAP to avoid disappointment. To register please complete the registration form below and return it to the County FA as instructed or call Jade Elson on 0114 261 5500 for more information.
