  1. South Yorkshire Walking Football League will be starting up again in November 2017 and will run for 8 months – The league would invite you to join now - all teams welcome! Following the last league, changes have been made, based on your feedback. YOU said, WE did: - TWO divisions Over 60s & Open Age teams to play in separate divisions so everyone gets the chance to play at a level to suit them! - Standard Rules – by being located at one central venue with a small pool of experienced referees the league rules will be consistent and upheld. - Players asked for social & competitive league games so we have tried to combine the best of both worlds with short games played respectfully & competitively. The feedback from the last league was superb and we are hoping to top it again this year: -“It is a couple of hours where I can forget everything” - "Rekindled my passion for football” - “Excellent – Top Class” - “Has given me a purpose!” This year the league will continue to run monthly fixtures, Wednesday afternoon 2-4pm from ONE location, Doncaster Rovers, Keepmoat Stadium, played in 5-aside caged pitches. Fees will be kept the same £20 affiliation plus £20 per fixture, however we will be asking for a £20 deposit to cover any missed fixtures. To apply to join the league please complete and return the attached League Sign Up form (see below) to [email protected] Deadline for final entries is the 23rd October. There are limited places available in each division so please register your interest as soon as possible!

  7. Finally, what everyone has been waiting for…………………… Welcome to the non-contact walking football Super League!!! Hello to all managers and organizer's, After a very successful Premier league, I have been contacted by many clubs from around the Country to join our league. These are teams from The Premier League, Championship, League 1 and 2 down to the National Leagues and more. I am very happy to have been asked to organize and run the biggest Walking Football League in the UK. How the Super League will work. The country will now be split in 2 the North (Leeds) and the South (Romford, Essex) both with teams entering from all over to join the league they would prefer due to distance etc. There will be £1000 for the winners of each league with £500 for 2nd place £300 for 3rd and £200 for 4th and then followed by a one-day Champions cup for top 4 finishers in both leagues. Once the National super leagues in England are established we will then set up super National leagues in Scotland, Wales and Ireland to then develop a one-day UK Champions of Champions Cup. Then why not go into Europe in the future. This is a strictly over 50s walking football league. Non-contact. It will be 6 aside, with a maximum of 10 players per team on the day but can register as many players as you like. It will take place once a month on a Sunday morning. The league will be a 22-team strong league and each team will play 3 different teams for 20 mins straight, that’s 1 hour of football per team! The cost of each month is £50 per team. The first 22 teams entered will make the Super league and the next 22 will make the Championship and will use the 4 teams Relegation and Promotion. First come first served basis, so please be quick to register. Please excuse me but no time wasters please, this is a serious league! Half way through the season there will be League Cup Tournament including both leagues together. Start date will be the following month once all the teams have been registered, so please register as quickly as you can as places will not be held. What to do next! If you are serious to join the biggest league in the UK please fill in the team registration form with the deposit to guarantee your place. Only once, the signed contract and deposit has been received, your club will be registered. Good luck and i look forward to hearing from you all. 9. Former Atherstone Town and Stockingford AA boss JIMMY Ginnelly who is currently managing Barwell in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier has created a Walking Football league players aged 40+ The league is based at the artificial pitch at Wembrook School. Jimmy explained, "I've put this league together simply to give the older boys who would love to play a bit of football in their 40s, 50s or 60s that opportunity to once again have that blast at them shiny white goalposts one more time. It gives them a reason to get of the settee and keep the mind and body in a bit of a fitter shape than just getting home from work and slumbering in that big armchair. "The people that are actually playing in this league are having bags of fun and in the right spirit. It's fantastic to watch some old boy score one more screamer from them old days, just ask Pete Lillicrap. It's all about blowing the old cobwebs off and having a night of fun. We've had some very interesting teams come down and play at Wembrook school in our eight team league It's getting stronger and more interest as the weeks go by. "There's eight great managers who you could contact if you'd like to get involved. Pete Lillicrap runs Bob Bradley's Academy, Gaz Kent (Jollys Bar), Sid Singh (Clob), Dave Carmichael (Has Beans), Gary Decker (Gaz Old Farts), I run Jag Old Boys, Charlie Reardon (Whitestone Wombles) and Ian Davis manages Magnificent 7s. Or if you're interested in putting your own team, just call me on 07904 085556."

  15. Birmingham FA Announce Their First Competitive Walking Football League Here is their announcement and please note they are still looking for more teams! We have some extremely pro-active walking football facilitators within our county and it has been beneficial to tap into that knowledge and experience and see them helping to drive the game forward in our county. We still have a few spaces left within the league so if anybody is interested in entering a team then please feel free to contact me.” The walking format of the game has really taken off over the past 2 years with new groups springing up on a regular basis all over the country. The desire for a league became apparent from discussions that had taken place at Birmingham FA walking football steering group that was created to take advantage of the vast experience there was locally within walking football. The significant growth of the game has been a testament to the work of a number of individuals passionate about providing further opportunities to play the game for older members of the community. With the game starting off purely for recreational purposes a number of groups who had been running for a while were becoming more competitive and now required a local platform and recognition of the game. The walking football league will initially be for those who are 50+ but we are seeking to create an additional league in the coming year for younger players. The league will be 7-a-side and will be £25 per fixture and there are four central venue fixtures dates highlighted below: Sunday 25th June 11:00am - 1:00pm Bedworth Football Club Sunday 16th July 11:00pm - 1:00pm Portway Leisure Centre Oldbury Sunday 20th August 12:00pm - 2:00pm Four Dwellings Academy Quinton Sunday 17th September 11:00am - 1:00pm Heartlands Academy Nechells
